The scripture for this Sunday is 1 Cor 13:1-13.  It is probably one of the most famous passages, even if you don't recognize the verse.  Almost every wedding quotes Paul's description of love.

• Love is patient.

• Love is kind.

• Love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.

• Love does not insist on its own way.

• Love is not irritable or resentful.

• Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth.

• Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love seems  too demanding, to difficult.  And it would be if we were left to our own resources.  But our love, our ability to love comes from our first being loved.  And the source of all unconditional love is God.  We love because he first loved us.  Loved us enough to become one of us, to share our pain, our hopes, our joys, our life, our death and make them his own.  Enough to invite us to share his life, his mission, his spirit, his resurrection, his  rebirth, starting right no and for all eternity.
